How to play the Double Ratamacue

Two drags leading into the ratamacue figure.

About the Double Ratamacue

The Double Ratamacue is one of the 40 PAS rudiments, in the Drag family. Drag rudiments place two quick grace notes (a ruff) ahead of the main note.

How to practice it

Start slow enough to play it perfectly evenly, counting out loud or with the metronome. Keep your strokes relaxed and your accents clear. Once it's clean, raise the tempo a few BPM at a time using the speed trainer — clean and slow always beats fast and sloppy.

The Double Ratamacue is one of the advanced rudiments included with Drumolo Pro, alongside notation scoring and every time signature. Start with the free trainer to build the basics first.
